Tree Trimming in Elgin

Elgin is a very small town in southeastern Wabasha County in the Whitewater River valley, and it's one of the more scenic communities in the region. Its housing stock is primarily older, with many homes from the early-to-mid 1900s on small in-town lots. The surrounding Whitewater State Park land and wooded bluffs mean residential lots often back directly up to heavy natural tree cover. Ice storms hit the Southeast Heights and Folwell neighborhoods hard, and silver maple branches — which snap faster than most people expect — end up on roofs, fences, and power lines. A lot of the trees in this area were planted in the 1960s and 1970s when those neighborhoods were built, which means they're big now and overdue for attention.
